e-Courts Computerization Status
E-Courts Project :
The e-Courts project is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) initiated by Govt of India for computerizing courts in the country, at various geographical levels, through a common and standardized system. In A & N Islands, the project is being successfully implemented in all six courts functioning in District and Sessions court complex at Port Blair.
Requisite ICT infrastructure is provided to courts to facilitate computerization. The Court Information System (CIS) developed by NIC at national level is the core software to handle various activities taking place at individual courts.
In the second phase, the e-courts project is being extended to Taluka courts functioning throughout the UT.

Website launched by The Hon’ble Justice Soumitra Pal, Judge High Court, Calcutta, (Judge-In-Charge, A & N Islands) in the August presence of The Hon’ble Justice Harish Tandon, Judge, High Court, Calcutta on 21st September, 2012.
This website has been designed and developed by National Informatics Centre, Andaman state unit, in coordination with District and Sessions court with the objective of providing Online services to stakeholders involved. The website provides useful information on the functions of the District and Taluka courts, contact details, etc.,
The salient feature of website is the dissemination of dynamic database oriented information relating to Cause lists, Judgement and Orders etc., of the individual courts. The information is provided through a common interface in an integrated manner. It will now be possible for citizens to search the website on individual Case details, Cases coming up for hearing etc., in online mode.
This website is an effort on the part of District & Sessions court, A & N Islands to bring transparency in the system, using ICT for the benefit of the citizens.
