DUTIES OF FOREST OFFICER

1)The Indian Forest Service aims at scientifically managing and protecting the forests of India.
2)The main mandate of the service is the implementation of the country's National Forest Policy which envisages scientific management of forests and to exploit them on a sustained basis for primary timber products, among other things.
3) Responsible for managing the Forests, forest protection, Environment and Wild-Life related issues of a Forest Circle of a state 4) Protecting and preserving rich heritage of forest resources .
5)This includes preventing illegal logging of trees, poaching of animals etc.
6) To implement National forest policy framed by Ministry Of Environment & Forest. (MoEF) from time to time.
7) Device plans for legal commercial exploitation like timber etc.

DUTIES OF SENIOR INVESTIGATOR /ASSISTANT STATISTICAL OFFICER

1. Collection, compilation, analysis and interpretation of statistical data relating to the sphere where they are posted.
2. Application of statistical methods to specific problems.
3. Preparation of reports/returns and submissions to authorities as required.
4. Dissemination of statistical data through statistical publications.
5. Designing of statistical designs/schedules for surveys/studies as required by the department/DES.
6. Conducting of census/survey works as required by the department/DES.
7. Dissemination of data for planning purpose.
8. Monitoring and evaluation of programmes/projects.
9. Training to the staff.
10. Any other works as assigned by the higher authorities
