Prof (Dr) Pragya Sharma has had an illustrious career in the field of medical education, administration and research. She completed her MBBS from PGIMER, Rohtak in the year 1998 and MD in Community Medicine from PGIMER, Rohtak in the year 2004. She also holds an MBA degree in Health Care Services from Sikkim Manipal University.

She started her career at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi in 2004 and ascended the academic ladder and became the Professor of Community Medicine in the year 2016. She has also authored various research papers, publications and books of international repute.

During her professional journey she has also served the Govt. of NCT of Delhi as Public Health Specialist (CHS) from 2008-2011 and was the State Program Officer for National Health Mission (NHM), for NCT of Delhi.

She has joined as the Director, ANIIMS with effect from 25th October 2022 on deputation (Central Health Services) from MAMC, New Delhi.
