The various Bus Passes issued by State Transport Service

Super Senior Citizens Pass

  • A person aged 80 years and above can avail the facility of free bus pass and no fare shall be charged in Ordinary/Express bus services. This Pass is issued for a period of two years.
Documents Required
  • 1 No. Passport Size photograph.
  • Attested copy of Senior Citizen Certificate issued by Tehsildar.
  • An application in plain paper.

Senior Citizens Pass

  • A person aged 60 years and above but below 80 years can avail the facility of this bus pass for Ordinary/Express buses. A fifty percent (50%) of concession shall be given on the prevailing bus fare (fractions to be rounded off to next rupee). A minimum of Rs. 6.00 shall be charged in Ordinary bus services. This Pass is issued for a period of two years.
Apart from the above scheme passes are also been issued for Monthly/Quarterly/Half yearly and Yearly basis for Ordinary bus services which are detailed below
  • Rs. 300.00 for one month.
  • Rs. 800.00 for three months.
  • Rs. 1500.00 for six months.
  • Rs. 2500.00 for one year.

  • Attested copy of Senior Citizen Certificate issued by Tehsildar.
  • An application in plain paper.

Physically Handicapped Pass

  • A physically handicapped person with 40% disability and above but below 80 years can avail the facility of free bus pass and no fare shall be charged in Ordinary/Express bus services. This Pass is issued for a period of two years.
Documents Required
  • 1 No. Passport Size photograph.
  • Attested copy of Disability Certificate issued by Directorate of Social Welfare.
  • Attested copy of Medical Certificate issued by Directorate of Health Services.
  • An application in plain paper.

Freedom Fighters Pass

  • Freedom fighter in possession of proper Identity Card issued by Competent Authority can avail the facility of free bus pass and no fare shall be charged in Ordinary/Express bus services. This Pass is issued for a period of two years.
Documents Required
  • 1 No. Passport Size photograph.
  • Attested copy of Freedom fighter Identity Card issued by Competent Authority.
  • An application in plain paper.

Students Pass

  • Students of various Government/Private educational institutions (which are Govt. recognized/Govt. aided/Govt. affiliated) including Polytechnic and ITI etc. can avail the facility of this bus pass for Ordinary/Express buses. A fifty percent (50%) of concession shall be given on the prevailing fare in Express bus services (fractions to be rounded off to next rupee). A minimum of Rs. 6.00 shall be charged in Ordinary bus services for 0-12 Kms. Beyond 12 Kms 50% of the existing fare shall be charged in Ordinary bus services.
Apart from the above scheme passes are also been issued for Monthly/Quarterly/Half yearly and Yearly basis for Ordinary bus services which are detailed below
  • Rs. 250.00 for one month.
  • Rs. 700.00 for three months.
  • Rs. 1300.00 for six months.
  • Rs. 2400.00 for one year.

  • Attested copy of Identity Card issued by Institution.
  • An application in plain paper.

General Commuters Pass

  • Any person who doesn't fall under the above mentioned category can avail the general commuters pass for Monthly/Quarterly/Half yearly and Yearly basis for Ordinary bus services .
  • By availing these passes on prepaid basis from STS counters they can avail ordinary bus service at any part of A & N Island till the validtity of the pass expires.
Documents Required
  • 1 No. Passport Size photograph.
  • Attested copy of Identity Card issued by Institution.
  • An application in plain paper.
Fare Structures of bus passes for general commuters
  • Rs. 400.00 for one month.
  • Rs. 1200.00 for three months.
  • Rs. 2200.00 for six months.
  • Rs. 4000.00 for one year.

Procedure for new Learner’s License (Persons already holding any class of vehicle Driving License earlier

Eligibility for obtaining a learner’s licence :
  • Age eligibility: 18 years
  • For vehicles without gear 16 years (Provided parents/guardian consent obtained.)
  • For commercial vehicle: 20 years.

Forms Required
  • Form 1- Medical fitness certificate. (Self-declaration of medical fitness in case of those below 40 age and in case of those above 40 yrs. Medical fitness certificate (Form-1) is compulsory from any Govt. Medical Practitioner).
  • Form 2 – Application for learner’s license with 2 passport size photo graph.
  • Learner test will be exempted for those who already posses a Driving license or Learner license

  • 2 Nos. Passport Size photograph.
  • Attested copy of residence proof (Passport/Islander Card/Family Identity Card/ Ration Card/Local Certificate)etc.
  • Attested copy of age proof (Birth Certificate/School Certificate/Departmental Identity Card/Certificate from HOD/Passport).
  • Blood Group Report/ Proof.
  • Fee Rs.30/- for each class of vehicle applied for.
